www.itechster.com This tutorial we shall be going over on how to connect your ADVC-300 or similar device to your computer running Final Cut Pro, in order to capture your video. In my example I am using a Sony VHS to DVD Recorder, but in most cases you may be using a regular VCR which the steps outlined will still be the same. Make sure that you have your ADVC-300 device connected and both your computer & device turned on. Keep in mind that some applications such as iChat or Screen Sharing can conflict with your device so be sure not to be running those while doing your capture. Just follow the video tutorial for the rest of this setup. Have Fun & Enjoy.

No it’s for Mac only.
Can You Get Final Cut Pro For PC ???
you would see it prior to capture in the preview window, but once your done with the first capture you will need to use the window that the capture is actually showing, unless you just close it out & reopen Log & Capture all over again. A controller deck would use the preview window it self cause of the way that it works.
Thank you. Another problem I have is that if I click on the picture controller to make adjustments the preview is diabled on Final Cut Pro, unlike iMovie where I can adjust the picture controller settings while I preview. Is there something I can do about this?
unless you have controller deck, which most likely your not using you will have to control it manually. While you use the Log & Capture option in final cut pro.
I am trying to convert VHS to DVD using the ADVC 300 and Final Cut Pro. I can’t control the video using Final Cut Pro to capture it. What is the best way to capture it?
Not that I’m aware of no I do not. Everything I’ve used so far do need to be able to use the connections on the ADVC device it self, so everything has worked at least for me. I have not ran into any issues at all on that.
are you aware of any analog sources (video) that are not compatible with the 300. ie, beta….thanks.
thank’s for the feedback. i got a dazzle and it’s crap. i’ll definitely look into the 300
If price is an issue then I would go with the advc 55 or advc 110, but if you can find a good price on the advc 300 go with that since it has much better quality & can also enhance the footage you capture to it as well as do 4:3 & 16:9 aspect ration where the others only do 4:3.
If great quality is not a major issue then a dazzle would do.
i want to convert hi8, vhs, and possibly beta to dvd. what product do you recommend?
connect your ps3 directly to the advc 100 or via a tv or vcr, using the RCA cables or S-Video, I do not record off my HDTV cause it does not have Video out only Video In. If your getting a tint over your video then it may be due to the video source being encrypted, if that is the case you will need to disable macrovision on it.
do you record off of a hd tv?I was wondering if that device can record 720p
and if you record with the normal av cables that you get with your console?,because i was trying to record my ps3
and i was playing on a HDMI cable and when i opened Final Cut i got this blue screen so what quality settings
can they record
i use a canopus ADVC 110
or what quality setting do
you play in
Yes here is a vid of my first try on it. watch?v=-jXUxWso_Vs
If your using the Canopus 55, 110, 300 to record gameplay you will no hear any audio due to it recording via iMovie, Quicktime Player, Final Cut Pro & Express. Now you could use it to play as real time with audio via Quicktime Player and use pretty much any screen capture app to record it like. Screenflow, iShowu, Screenium, ect ect.
is it true you can record playstation 3 gameplay using the conopus 300. cause thats why i want to buy one.
